Particularly handsome Atlas figure is a heavy/solid base for this antique toned globe. Got it for my grandson who is more into Greek mythology than geography, so this is a good globe to introduce him into where everything is in the world. I only regret that it does not rotate in the North/South plane, only in the East/West plane.

Atlas is a dark brown. There is no bronze color. There are small gouges that you can see in the oceans Very hard to see print. I guess it makes a nice home decor item. The colors of the land masses and oceans look cool. Other than that it is WAY OVERPRICED.

Very nice globe! I have it placed in my living room sitting on the ledge of my bay window and it looks fantastic! Very much a conversation piece. I say knock-off 50 bucks then I would consider it reasonably priced. Overall, I think you will be very happy with this piece.
