It is blue - not black. Other comments state this also. Glad I got the dolphin base (although its spendy). It did dress it up since it's a gift. When I inspected the globe, I saw hairline cracks around the fluid injection spot. I called the Mova Globe company directly. They had me send it back (no charge) and are sending me a replacement. The process has taken a few weeks. It's amazing to see this thing turn - very impressive!!!!!

Love the globe - not happy about the fact that it is described as black and is actually blue (lost a star for that). I had wanted black. Still, it's very attractive, unusual, and is quite the conversation piece. It's also a little pricey (lost another star for that), but it was our choice to make. I'd buy it again - we are enjoying it ... but you really should make the description match the product.

There is nothing wrong with the product. I had just seen one that was solid globe and was black and silver. I thought I was ordering that product. My husband still loved the product.
